Ashok Bhatt Died

 

On Wednesday former Gujarat Assembly speaker Ashok Bhatt passed away at the age of 71. He was hospitalized due to heart complications and later doctors diagnosed that he was also suffering from severe infection. He had been suffering from critical illness for months and during the last month it was said that his condition was stable. On Wednesday he was put on life support due to his critical condition but he died at night around 10.45 p.m.

The news of his death was a great shock for his family and friends as they were very hopeful for his early recovery. Ashok Bhatt was one of the most prominent and oldest members of the assembly. He was elected from his hometown and remained on the same seat for seven years.

On the Wednesday evening before his death Chief Minister Narendra Modi also visited the hospital and inquired about his health. He was attending Board of Control for Cricket in India meeting in Mumbai but as he came to know about his health he cancelled it.

Ashok Bhatt was admitted to the SAL Hospital and he was recovering. Suddenly his condition turned worst and he died on 29th September. According to doctors rapid deterioration was the cause of his worst condition and he couldn’t bear it due to worse health condition. Ashok had also served as Minister for Law and Justice and Health for the Government of Gujarat.

In 1956 he joined Mahagujarat Movement and in 1960 became a part of Jansangh. Not only this he was also a prominent member of NavNirman Movement.
